What’s Inside A Full-time Travel Kids Suitcase?

What’s Inside A Full-time Travel Kids Suitcase?

One Carry-on size Chester suitcase and one backpack. That’s the amount of space this little girl has to fit both her toys and clothes. Honestly, I didn’t even want to have to lug that much around. The initial goal was to be down to the Chester suitcase, but that didn’t happen. She filled two bags, and one weighs twenty-five pounds.

Still, I’m impressed! She did a great job. Downsizing to two bags isn’t easy, especially if you’re a kid and love toys.

My reasoning for showing you what’s inside Mackenzie’s suitcase first is that I don’t believe hers will change much over the next few months. Ours, however, is a work in progress. Some things we’ll keep and others, we’ll probably toss.

Anywho, let’s get to it, below is everything that Mackenzie carries with us on our journeys.

CLOTHES

It’s an amazing feeling once you realize how little clothes you need! Up until this past summer, we packed way too many clothes! Now we realize that we end up wearing our favorites the majority of the time anyway, so why to bother with the rest. Right?

This particular suitcase is divided into two separate sides. We use one side for her toys and the other for her clothes. Let’s start with her clothes.

TOPS/BOTTOMS

4 Short sleeved shirts

2 Tank Tops

1 Long sleeved shirt

1 Sweater

3 Leggings

1 Pair of jeans

1 Pair of shorts

4 Dresses

MOOY'S CLOTHS & EXTRAS

1 Swim Suit

Several American Girl Doll Outfits

Several My Life Doll Outfits

2 Doll Hats

1  Doll Suitcase

1  Doll Sleeping Bag

TOYS

We are lucky that Mackenzie LOVES little toys. The Majority of what she owns is LOL Dolls, Shopkinz, and Littlest Petshop which are all easily stored. Some bigger items she has, however, is the furniture and cars she needs for those dolls, plus Mooy’s cash register.

It took us a while to figure out how to fit all of this in one side of her suitcase but after several trials and errors, we decided to store all of her Shopkins and Littlest petshop in their own bags and store the other stuff loosely. We’ll have to see how long this works out. I’ll be sure to keep you updated.

A Ton Of Doll Furniture

Mooy’s Cash Register

1 Shopkinz Doll Car

5 LOL Pets

That’s it! That’s Everything This Little Girl Owns!! Pretty Amazing, Isn’t it?

Wow, very impressive! We are planning our first trip – 1 month in Costa Rica. My girls love Barbie dolls and horses plus all the furniture to go with them. I was wondering how I was Going to fit it all in, this post has been really helpful.

1 questions, What goes in her backpack for the plane? Does she choose which toys to keep on her to play with for the journey or does she have other things to do during the flight?

Hello, I’m so glad this post helped you out. We haven’t been on a plane since we started traveling full-time. We’ve recently completed the continental U.S. When we’re traveling in our car though she gets to pack whichever toys she would like in her small backpack, and we usually have different road trip games for them to play like Licence plate bingo which wouldn’t work on a plane. I have a blog post that lists different ways to keep your kids entertained on a road trip you might enjoy. Some of them would work on a plane as well. Our kids enjoyed “I’m going on a road trip” You could change the words of the game to I’m going on a plane ride. I explain how to play the game in that post.
